All of these pics were taken along the former Delaware & Hudson rails in Colonie, NY... a few miles north of Albany. This equipment is quietly decomposing behind what was once the D&H shops here.

This Alco switcher has *definately* seen better days. But, judging by the bucket over the exhaust, at least *someone* still cares about it. Most of the glass is gone, but it looks to be saveable. |

This is an ex-Long Island RR power car. It's an Alco FA1 or 2 that LIRR bought from the PC (I think) and converted, by yanking out the Alco 244 engine. All the windows have been covered with plywood. |

Also on the same line, was this pair of battered Alco RS-series engines. Not sure if they're RS2s or 3s. I also managed to catch a fellow PCRRHS member (possibly Jerry?). |
|
A close up of the ex-Boston & Maine Alco from the above picture. This one is a complete mess. The radiators in the hood (the large hole in the side) have been removed completely. You can see right through this engine! |

An old wooden boxcar is still on the rails in 2001. This one was so beat up, I could barely read the reporting marks on it. |
|
This is a former New York Central rpo (rail post office) car. Most of the original paint was still there... but it was relettered. No PC logos were on this car! |

An ex-NYC Pullman rusts away on the siding here. Most of the glass has been smashed, and the stainless steel fluting has been dented. |
