These are photos that I took while in Mahoningtown, PA (near New Castle, PA...which is about an hour's drive north of Pittsburgh). I'm just surprised that they look this good...considering that the weather sucked! I went up there mainly to ride the trains and look at the various pieces of preserved equipment, and to finally see UN tower in all its glory... after reading about it for so long!

This is the Alco RS11 that we passed while riding the caboose. Not sure, but it might be of PC ancestry.
A Schnabel car is parked behind the RS11. These cars are used to haul large transformers. This car is two sections...which come apart, and then lock onto the load--with the load between them. Very cool! This one is owned by one of the factories here.

These are a few views of an ex- United States Army Alco S1. This engine was formerly parked behind the Applebee's not too far from my house!
An ex-Conrail transfer caboose sits at the very end of the spur.
At the other end of the spur, is this amazingly well-preserved New York Central Pullman car. It's made of stainless steel, and probably dates from the late 1940s or early 1950s.

Just a look down into the little yard. Just a few spurs, and many freight cars.
